1、 Hydrogen production by electrolysis of water

Hydrogen production from electrolyzed water can be divided into green electricity and traditional energy. Among them, green electricity is mainly distributed in regions rich in renewable energy resources. There are four main technical routes for hydrogen production from electrolyzed water: alkaline electrolyzed water (AEL), proton exchange membrane (PEM), solid oxide (SOEC), and anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolysis. AEM and SOEC have not been commercialized yet. The main impurities of hydrogen produced by electrolysis of water are saturated water and oxygen. Jia'an hydrogen source solves the problem of removing water and oxygen at low cost, so that hydrogen can meet the hydrogen standard for fuel cells.

2、 Hydrogen production from coal and natural gas

In China, coal based hydrogen production and natural gas based hydrogen production are the main hydrogen production methods. These hydrogen products are generally produced through the traditional PSA process to obtain industrial hydrogen with different purity and requirements, matching different use scenarios in the industry. Due to different implementation standards and requirements, most of the industrial hydrogen cannot meet the requirements of hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles.

Methane steam reforming (SMR) is the main hydrogen production technology in natural gas hydrogen production. At present, the total amount and uneven distribution of natural gas resources in China limit the development of hydrogen production from natural gas in China to a certain extent. The technology of hydrogen production from coal is mature in commercialization and has obvious cost advantages, which is suitable for large-scale hydrogen production. In addition, China is rich in coal resources, with more in the west and less in the east, and rich in the north and poor in the south. Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi have good raw coal output and relatively low coal prices. The types of impurities contained in hydrogen in the industrial industry are complex. The types and contents of impurities vary greatly depending on the source of feed gas. A proprietary method is required to solve the deep removal of impurities such as CO and sulfur in fuel hydrogen. After the economic deep purification of some weakly adsorbed impurities in industrial hydrogen, the quality requirements of hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles can be met.

3、 Coke oven gas and hydrogen by-product from chlor alkali chemical industry

China is a coke producing country. Coke oven gas is a combustible gas produced by the coking process and a by-product of the coking industry. As a by-product in chlor alkali chemical industry, hydrogen is generally used to synthesize hydrochloric acid and produce PVC. The remaining hydrogen can be purified to produce ordinary hydrogen or pure hydrogen. Coking and chlor alkali industries are widely distributed and have considerable industrial scale in economically developed areas. Being close to downstream consumer markets can fully improve the utilization efficiency of hydrogen energy and reduce storage and transportation costs.

However, the impurities of these two by-products are more complex, especially the CO and sulfide contained in the coke oven gas components have a greater impact on the fuel cell, while the halide in the by-product hydrogen of chlor alkali chemical industry also has a toxic effect on the fuel cell, so special attention should be paid to the hydrogen purification and deep purification process. At present, the industrial by-product hydrogen has not fully played its economic value, and there is a phenomenon of inefficient utilization. With the continuous development of hydrogen energy industry, the advantages of industrial by-product hydrogen economy, low carbon and wide distribution will help the hydrogen energy industry to achieve commercialization and marketization at an early date to a certain extent.

4、 Hydrogen production from biomass

Generally, biomass mainly refers to crop straw, sawdust, organic fertilizer or landfill waste. The source of raw materials is wide, the total amount is sufficient, and the technology has not been commercialized. At present, there are many researches on hydrogen production by gasification and pyrolysis, and hydrogen production by photosynthesis or fermentation also has great potential. Gasification and pyrolysis is to place solid or liquid biomass in a high-temperature closed environment of about 1000 ℃, convert it into synthesis gas, and obtain hydrogen by removing impurities such as CH4, H20, N2, CO2, CO and various macromolecular particles.
